Pre-Construction Services
VanMar’s strong design-build experience has given us a good understanding of the design process as well as the construction process. Typically we are retained at the project inception to assist in selecting an appropriate design team and to assist in establishing a schematic design and conceptual budget.
VanMar’s pre-construction services include:
- selecting an appropriate design team
- establishing a design schedule
- assisting in developing the design
- providing design construction reviews
- establishing construction budgets at strategic times during the design development
- chairing and facilitating the design coordination meetings, and
- generally assisting the design team to develop a constructible, economic and quality design
We provide input and advice on feasable construction, alternative materials, value engineering, and cost savings at each stage of the design development. Site planning and construction scheduling are also part of the pre construction service. Our involvement during the design stage helps ensure economic, constructible design and provides substantial savings to the project.
Sustainable/Green Initiatives
VanMar has been involved in a number of projects with sustainable/green initiatives and provides advice on how these initiatives could be incorporated into the project design and what the cost impact of these initiatives may be.
