Art Van Maren
President
Art Van Maren, President of VanMar Constructors Inc., was born in 1965. He has lived in BC for most of his life. He is married with five children. Art graduated from high school in 1983. After graduation he worked for two years in the framing and forming business.
Art started work for Van Maren Construction in 1986. Art worked as an assistant superintendent for several years and then acted as a construction superintendent until 1995 managing a variety of residential, institutional and commercial projects. Art worked in Van Maren Construction’s Seattle division from 1985 to 1990. In 1991 Art started work in BC and continued acting as a construction superintendent and on site project manager until 1995. Art left the field in 1995 to work in the office as a project manager completing a variety of residential, institutional and commercial projects. Van Maren Construction acted as a design build contractor or general contractor on most of these projects and Art was responsible for both the design and construction of these projects.
Art became a partner in the firm in 1999. He held the position of Vice President, Construction and was responsible for all of the company’s design-build and construction activities. In 2002 the other partners retired from the construction business and Art Van Maren re-launched the construction company under the new name VanMar Constructors Inc. Art Van Maren’s current position is owner and president of VanMar Constructors Inc. Since 2002 VanMar has completed numerous institutional, residential and commercial projects.
